North Carolina Youth Empowerment Study

NC YES is the North Carolina Youth Empowerment Study. Youth empowerment programs across North Carolina are working to change social norms and prevent and reduce tobacco use. Due to their growth in popularity, additional programs will begin in the state over the next few years. Now is the time to look at what they're doing to find out what's working and what's not.

North Carolina teens have been busy getting the word out to their communities about tobacco use and prevention. They have been advocating for tobacco free schools, reducing illegal tobacco sales to minors, and promoting smoke-free environments.

NC YES wants to record how these youth-led, adult-supported programs have created effective policies and activities to reduce tobacco use.

NC YES wants to help North Carolina youth empowerment programs so that they can evaluate, and thus improve, their own programs.
