Research Findings
Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have evaluated FoodSmart in WIC and family practice clinics and the results are overwhelmingly positive:
  • The majority of the participants who used FoodSmart felt that the program was highly acceptable and that they would use the program again.

  • The people who used FoodSmart had significantly higher knowledge and confidence about their ability to choose healthier foods and practice healthy infant feeding practices.

Soon you will be able to view the published research article of these findings. Until then, you can review an article about StampSmart, which was the pilot program for FoodSmart and had very similar findings.
