Dr. Meier, a clinical assistant professor in the UNC School of Social Work, serves as the CHAI Core's qualitative methods specialist. In her work with CHAI Core, she consults with the Core's clients on the use of qualitative data collection and data analysis methods in their projects, and conducts trainings on how to use focus groups in health behavior research. Dr. Meier's research has focused on interventions to promote resilience in lay and professional caregivers and in technology-mediated support groups. She has conducted research on telephone conference support groups for AIDS family caregivers, and facilitated Internet support groups for stressed-out social workers, and family caregivers of colon cancer patients. |
